While the Texas House is not currently slated to consider any property tax relief measures, the chamber is today debating House Bill 506. This bill would make it worse by letting school property tax rates rise an additional 10 cents per $100 of valuation.

If you’re worried about your property taxes going up even higher than they have, you should call your state representative — 512-463-4630. (HB 506 was sponsored by Travis County Democrat Eddie Rodriguez.)

The Texas House will be considering HB506 later this afternoon or evening

Again, HB 506 would allow school property tax rates to exceed the current limit and therefore further increase property tax burdens.
