WASHINGTON, D.C. — At an event focused on the security implications of the agriculture industry, Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins condemned the notion of “amnesty” for illegal aliens working on farms and ranches.

There has been concern raised in recent days that the Trump administration is considering amnesty for farm workers and hospitality workers. Rollins said the president “has been unequivocal that there will be no amnesty.”

Flanked by Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and others, Rollins said there must be “a 100 percent American workforce” in agriculture as a matter of national security.

“We must be strategic in how we are implementing the mass deportation so as not to compromise our food supply,” said Rollins. “I can’t underscore enough, there will be no amnesty.”

The event itself was focused on new initiatives dealing with China’s growing presence in American agriculture. These initiatives will range from blocking land acquisitions near sensitive military installations to preventing hostile foreign governments’ “collaboration” on research programs.

Among other things, it was announced that Rollins—as the Secretary of Agriculture—will begin serving on the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States. CFIUS reviews deals where foreign companies or individuals want to buy or invest in American businesses, focusing on the national security implications. The other members of the committee, which the Secretary of the Treasury chairs, are the secretaries of Justice, Homeland Security, Commerce, Defense, State, and Energy.
