After three individuals arrested for serious—but separate—crimes in Dallas County have now been issued immigration detainers by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

An ICE detainer is a request to a local law enforcement agency to hold an individual in custody for up to 48 hours beyond their release date, giving ICE time to potentially take them into federal custody for removal proceedings.

On Sunday, Rafael Yanez, 43, was arrested and booked after being charged with the murder of Uriel Habram Palafox Rocha.

A press release from the Dallas Police Department reports that Yanez was apprehended when officers responded to a call at 3:30am.

Yanez has an ICE detainer and is being held without bond.

On July 17, Sergio Reyes Hernandez was charged with robbery and also has an immigration detainer.

42-year-old Miguel Hernandez Rodriguez was booked on July 13 after soliciting a minor online. Rodriguez also has an ICE detainer and is being held on a $25,000 bond.
