UPDATED August 20 with new charges filed against Stott.
A 2nd-grade teacher at a private school in Friendswood was charged with sexually abusing a young child, and police believe he may have more victims.
Lewis Connor Stott, 32, was arrested August 8 and charged with continuous sexual abuse of a young child under the age of 14, a first-degree felony punishable by 25 years to life in prison.
The alleged sexual abuse reportedly occurred between 2020 and 2026 while Stott worked at The Galloway School in Friendswood, which serves students in pre-K through 5th grade.
During his time at the school, Stott taught 2nd grade and was a physical education teacher and soccer club coach.
Stott has held a Texas teaching certificate since 2024.
The Friendswood Police Department announced Stott’s arrest on August 8.
Friendswood PD investigated sexual abuse allegations against Stott and arrested him on a Harris County warrant. The investigation is ongoing.
“Due to Stott’s former position as an educator and his access to children during his employment, investigators believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward,” stated police.
Stott was booked into the Harris County Jail and released August 8 on a $100,000 bond.
On August 13, Stott was arrested again and charged with two counts of attempted indecency with a child by sexual contact. He was released on bonds of $50,000 for each charge.
The first indecency complaint alleges Stott grabbed a female student’s buttocks under her clothes multiple times during the 2021-22 school year while the girl was standing next to his desk.
A second indecency complaint alleges Stott inappropriately touched another 8-year-old girl in his class during the 2025-26 school year. The student told investigators that Stott put his hand up her skirt, rubbed her thigh, and placed the girl on his lap and moved her body.
Both students alleged they saw Stott inappropriately touch other girls in their classes. An 8-year-old boy confirmed the second girl’s account and said he saw Stott have as many as three girls sit on his lap for up to 20 minutes at a time.
Stott was reportedly preparing to flee to the United Kingdom when he was first arrested.
An attorney representing The Galloway School said Stott “separated from the school last May” and that school officials have cooperated with all investigations.

Hundreds of Texas public and private school employees have been accused of sex crimes involving students and other children in just the past few years. Thousands have been reported to the Texas Education Agency for sexual misconduct.
The TEA’s Educator Misconduct Reporting Dashboard shows that the agency is currently investigating more than 2,500 sexual misconduct complaints and opening an average of 250 new cases each month.
