A ticket lottery is now open for members of the public hoping to attend next month’s Republican Midterm Convention in Dallas.
The convention, scheduled for September 9-10, is expected to draw more than 20,000 attendees and will feature President Donald Trump.
Members of the public can request tickets for either day—or both—through the convention website. Winners will be notified on September 4 and will have 24 hours to claim their tickets.
Some lottery winners will receive VIP front-row tickets, according to the Republican National Committee.
“Never before have the American people been given front row seats to such a historic event,” RNC spokesman Zach Kraft told Texas Scorecard. “President Trump is the ultimate champion for hardworking people, and the convention will feature that story prominently while contrasting the radical vision for this country offered by far-left Democrats.”
The public lottery provides another way into the convention after delegate spots were allocated to state Republican parties to use as fundraising opportunities.
In Texas, the Republican Party of Texas offered convention packages ranging from $5,000 to $20,000, with different levels of access and benefits.
The RNC says the Dallas gathering will be the largest Republican convention, midterm or otherwise, since 2016.
The convention is also seeking roughly 750 volunteers per day from the Dallas area.
