As early voting began Monday in the 2022 general election, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton launched a dedicated Election Integrity Team tasked with ensuring the election is run “transparently and securely.”

The AG’s office operates an Election Integrity Division year-round, but Paxton is devoting a special team of agency lawyers, investigators, and support staff to oversee this election season and respond to concerns.

“The foundation of our constitutional republic is a secure and transparent ballot,” Paxton said. “It is why my office remains ever vigilant in defending the integrity of our elections. And it’s why I’m establishing a 2022 General Election Integrity Team.”

The Election Integrity Team’s primary function is to serve as a statewide resource to both election officials and the public. The team will also follow up on reports of possible election crimes.

Anyone seeing violations of Texas election laws can report them to electionintegrity2022@oag.texas.gov.

Paxton said his office will be monitoring the email account “at all times” and is “prepared to take action against unlawful conduct where appropriate.”

“We are committed to following and ensuring compliance with all relevant state and federal laws,” he said.

Early voting runs October 24 through November 4. Election Day is Tuesday, November 8.
