After Judge Mary Brown’s ruling in the James Younger case last year, where she ruled in favor of the mother moving the two young sons out of state, Texas State Rep. Bryan Slaton has filed a resolution calling for the Dallas judge’s impeachment.

House Resolution 238 was filed on February 14 by State Rep. Bryan Slaton (R–Royse City); it would bring articles of impeachment against Brown, removing her from the 301st Judicial District.

Slaton’s reasoning for Brown’s impeachment revolves around her ruling in the Jeff Younger case that caused a father to lose custody of a son to his ex-wife, who was forcing gender transition on the child.

“By her rulings and decision in this case, Judge Brown put radical gender ideology and its effect on children above her duty to uphold the Constitution,” said Slaton. “She made these decisions, despite knowing full-well that a child would be subjected to further gender modification surgeries, procedures, therapies and counseling—actions that all reasonable people know to be barbaric and abusive.”

“The Texas Constitution gives the House of Representatives the power to bring articles of impeachment against judges,” Slaton continued. “I brought this resolution today because her actions are unconscionable, and the Texas Legislature must respond.”

The Jeff Younger case first attracted attention five years ago, when Younger began a fight with his ex-wife, Anne Georgulas, over the custody of his young sons.

Following the couple’s split, Georgulas said that the younger of the two boys, James, was showing signs of gender dysphoria. Georgulas then decided to tell James that he was a little girl called “Luna” and began transitioning him when he was with her. Georgulas claimed James would only wear girls’ clothes and wanted to do “girly” things whenever he was at her house.

However, Younger explained that when the boys were with him, James showed no signs of dysphoria and enjoyed dressing like a boy and doing usual “boyish” activities.

Georgulas wanted to take it a step further by giving the child hormone-suppression therapy, puberty blockers, and transgender “reassignment” surgery.

James’ father refused to allow this without a fight, and he battled his ex-wife for nearly five years.

Younger lost the ultimate fight in September 2022, when Judge Brown issued a ruling allowing Georgulas to take the boys to California, where the state has enacted laws that Younger asserts his ex-wife will use to medically transition James.

Brown’s ruling in the Younger case has caught the attention of multiple statewide offices, agencies, and lawmakers. Slaton’s filing of the resolution to impeach Brown shows he is planning to take a stand against child gender mutilation this legislative session.
