Some west Texas kids are getting snowmobile trips, vacations to Hawaii, California, LA and elsewhere — all courtesy of the schopol district. Actually, thanks to the state’s Robin Hood funding scheme, courtesy of taxpayers elsewhere in the state.

The Austin American Statesman says the Tornillo Independent School District is using money it gets from “wealthy” parts of the state to send students on high-dollar vacations.

The AAS reports, “This year, Tornillo’s 10 trips for students from fourth-graders to seniors are expected to cost just over $98,000.”

That’s, what, three math teachers? And you thought your money was being used in the classroom.
