US Rep. Chip Roy Bashes Biden Administration for Open Border

A U.S. representative is using new video footage, which shows “trainloads of military-age males” on their way to illegally cross into the United States, to once again call on Congress to secure the border.

After the video was posted on X, U.S. Rep. Chip Roy (R–TX) immediately called out Congress for failing to close the southern border.

“Congress is f**king around and our country is falling apart,” Roy posted on X. “I will not sit by, taking jabs from tyrannical leftists for the next year in hopes we can elect more loser mentality politicians to Washington in 2024.”

With one month left in the federal fiscal year, 2.2 million illegal alien encounters have been reported. As the border remains open, concerns are rising that FY 2023 will break FY 2022’s record of 2.3 million encounters.

Early this week, Eagle Pass announced a mass influx of illegal border crossers, many of whom are Venezuelan. Some illegal aliens attempted to symbolically claim a Texas island by placing a Venuzualan flag on it.

“These ‘asylum’ seekers (vast majority adult males) are planting the flag of their country on our soil,” Roy posted on social media. “Close the border. Send them home.”

Also this week, Rio Grande Border Patrol agents found a 2-month-old child abandoned at the border. This is not the first time Border Patrol agents have found children without parents at the border.

Roy explained that with an open border, “we are subsidizing human smuggling and criminal activity.”

“This must end,” he continued.

Roy has been pushing for a secure border since his election in 2019. As the Biden administration refuses to acknowledge the open border and secure it, Roy and other Republican congress members are attempting to withhold government funding until the border is secured.

“This power over the purse may be regarded as the most complete and effectual weapon with which any constitution can arm the immediate representatives of the people, for obtaining a redress of every grievance, and for carrying into effect every just and salutary measure,” Roy posted, quoting James Madison’s Federalist 58.

According to Roy, “the only way to establish #OrderAtTheBorder is to force an end – through law & funding – to the blatant violation of the letter & spirit of the law by the federal government & to FIX the law.”

Roy pointed out that a secure border does not just mean building a wall—although he “100% supports” that as well.

He believes a secure border requires the Department of Homeland Security to “1) detain fully, 2) put in removal proceedings, or 3) return to Mexico (through MPP), while shoring up BAD law, tightening both asylum & ‘parole’ laws being abused to release millions instead of ‘case by case.’”

While the federal government refuses to secure the border, Gov. Greg Abbott has also failed to declare an invasion and secure the Texas-Mexico border himself. Instead, Abbott has been busing illegals into Democrat-run “sanctuary cities” such as Denver, Washington DC, and New York City.

Even New York City Mayor Eric Adams said this is a “national problem.” New York City also recently announced that they will spend another $1 billion on hotels alone to house illegal aliens for another three years.

“Texans are done. We are over it,” Roy said. “No matter what happens before this is all over, border security needs to get done, period, full stop – no security, no funding.”

He concluded by saying it is “now or never. Saddle up and fight for America.”
