Vice President JD Vance is returning to Texas this week for another campaign rally as Republicans make their final push ahead of the November 3 election.
The rally will take place Thursday, October 29, in Weatherford, west of Fort Worth.
The visit marks Vance’s third campaign rally in Texas in just one month, following appearances in Harlingen and Tyler.
Earlier this month, Vance rallied a standing-room-only crowd of Republicans in Tyler, where he delivered a fiery endorsement of Republican U.S. Senate nominee Ken Paxton and launched a series of attacks against Democrat James Talarico.
Calling Talarico a “wolf in sheep’s clothing,” Vance accused the Democrat of attempting to moderate his image while maintaining a record of supporting left-wing policies.
“James Talarico needs to take a week or two to get his own head examined because he’s lost his damn mind,” Vance told the crowd.
Vance also announced that the Trump administration would use the Defense Production Act to expand the Delek refinery in Tyler, promising increased fuel production and hundreds of new jobs.
The vice president also previously visited South Texas last month, joining Gov. Greg Abbott for the groundbreaking of a $3 billion shipyard project in Brownsville before headlining a rally in Harlingen for Republican congressional candidate Eric Flores, who is challenging Democrat U.S. Rep. Vicente Gonzalez.
Vance’s return comes as President Donald Trump is also preparing to hold rallies in both Lubbock and Corpus Christi this Tuesday, underscoring the national Republican Party’s focus on Texas in the closing days of the election.
According to an advisory from the Republican National Committee, Thursday’s rally will be held at JRJ Construction in Weatherford. Doors open at 10 a.m., with the event beginning at 12:15 p.m. Vance is scheduled to deliver remarks at 1:50 p.m.
Early voting continues through Friday, October 30, with Election Day on Tuesday, November 3.
