Reports from Washington, DC, are that US Rep. Blake Farenthold won’t seek re-election. He was first elected in 2010.

Earlier this year, Texans for Fiscal Repsonsibility announced that it would endorse in open-seat congressional elections. There are a record number of open congressional seats heading into the March primaries – six that are currently held by Republicans and two by Democrats.

Farenthold was pressured to leave after it was revealed his office used $84,000 in taxpayer fund to settle a sexual harassment lawsuit.
