Earlier this year, Texans for Fiscal Repsonsibility announced that it would endorse in open-seat congressional elections. There are a record number of open congressional seats heading into the March primaries – six that are currently held by Republicans and two by Democrats.
Farenthold was pressured to leave after it was revealed his office used $84,000 in taxpayer fund to settle a sexual harassment lawsuit.
