Project Veritas has released footage of a Food and Drug Administration attorney admitting that the agency he represented “unquestionably” went beyond its authority by dissuading the American public from taking ivermectin to fight COVID-19.

Isaac Belfer, who defended the FDA in a legal case brought by three doctors, including Texas’ Dr. Mary Talley Bowden, was secretly recorded stating that the agency overstepped its authority by recommending what drugs should and should not be taken.

Federal, state, and local governments took unprecedented steps to direct citizen behavior during the pandemic, confining people to their homes, shuttering businesses, and alternatively limiting and then mandating treatment, specifically vaccinations.

Texas cited the federal agency repeatedly during the pandemic while making policy decisions.

According to the doctors who brought suit against the FDA, the agency’s attack on ivermectin was part of an orchestrated effort to herd the public into getting COVID-19 shots. This was after the federal government took control over and cut the supply of monoclonal antibodies, another treatment option that had been saving lives.

Why did the FDA discourage using ivermectin and strangle the supply of monoclonal treatments? Emergency use authorization for vaccines requires “that there are no adequate, approved, and available alternatives.”

Infamously, during the pandemic, the FDA discouraged the use of ivermectin by suggesting the drug was intended for livestock, including horses and cows. The agency tweeted this information, which later became the subject of a lawsuit against the FDA.

According to Project Veritas’ footage of Belfer, the FDA often uses “something like tweets as a vehicle to pursue a broader agenda.” Undermining a cheap, effective, and approved alternative in ivermectin constituted a broader and potentially deadly agenda.

While alternative media sources and doctors, including Bowden, reported accurately that ivermectin had been used for decades by humans as an anti-parasitic prophylactic, the FDA’s campaign, coupled with suppression by technology companies, led to backlash from the medical community against the treatment and its advocates.

Pharmacists refused to prescribe the drug, and associations, hospitals, and doctors attacked physicians working to save patients with its use in the middle of the crisis. According to the physicians who sued the FDA, this undoubtedly caused countless avoidable deaths.

The release of this footage by Project Veritas coincided with a letter by Meta (formerly Facebook) CEO Mark Zuckerberg admitting that the Biden administration pressured Facebook to censor free speech, including information about COVID treatments and the content of Hunter Biden’s laptop.

Dr. Bowden, for her part, has been locked in an ongoing struggle with the Texas Medical Board over complaints that she was treating patients with ivermectin. Pressure is growing on the TMB to drop its pursuit of Bowden’s medical license, including threats from lawmakers to reform the body during the next legislative session.

Her track record treating patients with the drug during the pandemic was unblemished.
