As the Biden administration continues to fail Texans amid the border crisis and the Hunter Biden scandal continues to plague the president, U.S. Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) and U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) are calling for President Joe Biden to be impeached.

In the U.S. House, Roy specifically demanded that Biden be impeached for his handling of the border crisis.

During a House floor speech on Thursday, Roy blasted the Biden administration and Democrats for expressing false compassion toward illegal aliens while allowing dangerous cartels to infiltrate the United States.

“This is the state of affairs in our country. And this is the consequence to those migrants who were seeking to come here when my colleagues, in the false name of compassion, state that open borders is somehow good for them,” Roy said.

But this is causing crime to extend into our communities. This is causing us to experience the dangerous hand of cartels. Just this morning, we had more news about cartels and their reach into Texas, into the United States. It is an everyday occurrence. Bailouts, damage to ranches, harm to Texans, death to Texans, fentanyl. How many more fentanyl moms? How many more angel moms? How many more Americans need to suffer because this president refuses to follow the laws of the United States that he raised his hand and swore an oath to defend?

Alongside Roy, Cruz is also urging the House to look into impeaching President Biden after two IRS whistleblowers gave testimony alleging that the U.S. Department of Justice covered up Hunter Biden’s tax fraud investigation. The statements made by the whistleblowers also revealed that President Biden was directly involved with his son’s foreign dealings.

On Friday during his podcast, “Verdict with Ted Cruz,” Cruz said the time for an impeachment is now.

“Look, this WhatsApp [testimony] is direct evidence of Joe Biden abusing his government power to enrich his son, and, assuming 10 percent for the big guy, to enrich himself,” Cruz said. “Remember, this WhatsApp says, ‘We want to know.’ This is not just me, Hunter, just mooching off my dad. … Of course the House needs to investigate it, but the stunning thing is what the IRS whistleblower says is [ that U.S. Attorney General] Merrick Garland prevented an investigation even into this message.”

“Let me be clear: This, on the face of it, is obstruction of justice,” Cruz continued. “And if Merrick Garland issued that order, he is the one blocking the investigation, and I think there’s real evidence of Merrick Garland being guilty of obstruction of justice.”

Currently, House Resolution 503 by U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R–CO), which would impeach President Biden due to actions taken relating to the border crisis, has been introduced and referred to the House Committee on Homeland Security.
