Donald Trump Jr. waded back into Texas’ July 14 election season again this week, recording a video for 13th Congressional District hopeful Dr. Ronny Jackson, in which he praised Jackson and attacked his opponent’s record.

In a new video released by the Jackson campaign, Trump Jr. praised the former White House physician and retired U.S. Navy rear admiral, calling him the “America First patriot” in the Texas Panhandle and North Texas congressional race.

“Ronny Jackson is a retired Navy rear admiral who will stand alongside my father and fight back against the radical left and never-Trump Republicans to build the wall, rebuild our economy, and to drain the swamp,” Trump Jr. said.

Trump Jr. then went on to discuss the record of Jackson’s opponent, former lobbyist Josh Winegarner, reminding voters that he lobbied against Trump’s priorities in 2017.

“Ronny Jackson’s lobbyist opponent has lobbied against the Trump agenda and cannot be trusted,” Trump Jr. said. “We don’t need any more lobbyists in Congress.”

As first reported in Texas Scorecard last month, U.S. Senate records show that Winegarner lobbied against Trump on the issue of country-of-origin labeling in 2017. He also lobbied for continuing the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

Winegarner has since called the story “completely misleading and untrue.”

This new video comes as President Trump has endorsed Jackson several times in public statements ahead of the runoff; Trump’s support of Jackson has played a major role in the race.

Voters will decide this race on July 14. Early voting runs until July 10.
