Celina High School teacher Robert Brian Wysong is on administrative leave for a second time in two months while police investigate new misconduct allegations against him.

According to a notice sent Thursday to parents of students in Wysong’s classes, the teacher had been placed on leave last month while the district investigated “concerns from a student” that high school staff received on March 23.

The notice stated that a “thorough investigation” by Celina Independent School District determined that Wysong “did not engage in conduct in violation of state or federal laws or regulations and/or District policies,” and the teacher was “returned to duty.”

On Thursday, April 9, the District was made aware of new allegations circulating through social media. These new allegations, including, but not limited to, instant messaging through Tik-Tok and/or any physical contact with students, were never previously reported to CISD staff. Again, CISD has only been aware of these allegations through social media posts; we have received no information from students or parents.

The district stated that due to the nature of the new allegations, the investigation has been turned over to the Celina Police Department.

“The District has placed Mr. Wysong on administrative leave, and the District has notified the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, the Texas Education Agency State Board for Educator Certification, and the parents of students in Mr. Wysong’s classes,” the notice added.

Wysong joined Celina ISD at the start of the 2025-26 school year as a Career and Technical Education teacher. He is not currently shown in the CHS staff directory.

He received a Texas teaching certificate for marketing education in 2009. His certification became “inactive” in 2021.

In 2011, while teaching at Liberty High School in Frisco, Wysong co-founded custom t-shirt company Tumbleweed Texstyles.

Wysong is the latest in a string of Celina ISD educators accused of misconduct involving students.

Last October, Moore Middle School teacher and coach Caleb Elliott was arrested on charges of secretly recording students in the boys’ locker room.

A few weeks later, two Celina ISD teachers were charged with child endangerment for being intoxicated while in class. One, middle school teacher Jainya Walder, allegedly drove drunk with a student in her car during the school day while severely impaired.

Then wrestling coach Neil Phillips resigned over alleged misconduct in the previous school year in another district.

In March, Celina ISD’s longtime football coach (and Caleb’s father) Bill Elliott had his teaching certificate permanently revoked by the state in response to recent allegations that he raped a Celina ISD student 30 years ago.

Celina ISD is still the subject of a special investigation by the Texas Education Agency.

Over the past few years, a growing number of Texas school employees have been accused of sex crimes involving students and other children, and thousands have been reported to the TEA for misconduct.
