Sick Congress

Not a week goes by in the British national press in which there are not stories about the abysmal filth, wait times and problems in their socialized health care system, while Canadian leaders regularly travel to the United States for care. Now, 11 Texas congressmen are poised to impose the deplorable conditions on us.

The Austin-based left-wing Center for Public Policy Priorities — which will apparently only be happy when the United States is as poverty-stricken as Cuba and unproductive as France — is ratcheting their calls for the socialist take-over of health care. Their anti-liberty agenda would impose a massive regulatory and tax scheme, ironically labeled as “reform.”

Here are the Democrats who the CPPP says are voting for ObamaCare, and against the (literal) health of every American:

• Henry Cuellar (D-28, Laredo, McAllen, Seguin)
• Lloyd Doggett (D-25, Austin, San Marcos)
• Charlie A Gonzalez (D-20, San Antonio)
• Al Green (D-9, Houston)
• Gene Green (D-29, Houston, Baytown)
• Rubén Hinojosa (D-15, Harlingen, McAllen)
• Sheila Jackson Lee (D-18, Houston)
• Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-30, Dallas)
• Solomon P Ortiz (D-27, Brownsville, Corpus Christi)
• Silvestre Reyes (D-16, El Paso)
• Ciro Rodriguez (D-23, San Antonio, Uvalde)

Here’s the one Democrat CPPP says is voting against ObamaCare:
Chet Edwards, (D-17, Waco, Bryan/College Station)

However, I’m told Edwards is waffling and needs to hear from his constituents. He’s also the only Democrat (currently) under serious pressure for the fall elections. Though, frankly, voting for ObamaCare may make them all a little more vulnerable…

Texas voters should make phone calls as soon as possible, expressing their disgust and displeasure. Copied below are the district and Washington numbers for each of these congressmen.
