A Texas teacher has been accused of raping an underage student while he was working in the Round Rock Independent School District.
Caleb Ian Carter, 27, was arrested Wednesday and charged with sexual assault of a child, a second-degree felony.
The Round Rock Police Department made the arrest at the Dallas College Brookhaven Campus in collaboration with the Dallas College Police Department.
At the time of the alleged assault, Carter was an orchestra teacher at Round Rock High School. Police said the victim was a student, and the incident occurred off campus.
Round Rock ISD hired Carter as an assistant orchestra director in July 2022. He worked for the district until May 2025.
Carter was booked into the Dallas County Jail on April 29. Bond is set at $100,000.
According to an online staff biography, Carter began his teaching career in Wisconsin before moving to Texas.
Carter received a Texas teaching certificate for music in 2022.
