Police are investigating a middle school teacher in Killeen Independent School District following allegations of inappropriate conduct involving a student. The teacher has since resigned.

Parents received a safety message Monday from Eastern Hills Middle School Principal Jacqulyn Bridge.

Bridge said Killeen ISD was made aware of allegations involving the teacher and a student at the school on January 22.

“Killeen ISD’s Police Department immediately began investigating the allegations,” Bridge wrote. “The teacher resigned on January 23, 2025, and no longer works for the district.”

Bridge said the district is “cooperating fully with law enforcement.”

She did not disclose the teacher’s name because “it is an active investigation and a personnel matter.”

District parents have shared the teacher’s identity with Texas Scorecard. However, as the district has yet to confirm the individual in question and an arrest has not yet been made, the name is being withheld.

The teacher in question was hired and certified last fall but is no longer listed in the school’s staff directory or found anywhere on the Killeen ISD website or social media.

Although Killeen ISD officials allowed the teacher to resign, state law requires superintendents to report allegations of teacher misconduct involving a student to the Texas Education Agency within seven business days.

As of Thursday, TEA was not investigating the teacher.

Principal Bridge encouraged parents to contact the district’s police department with any additional information and advised that students and parents can report any safety concerns to the district’s tip line at www.KISDisSafe.com.

Parent advocates recommend families report possible misconduct to local law enforcement as well.

Another unnamed Central Texas teacher also resigned this week amid allegations of inappropriate conduct with a student in Lampasas ISD.

The two teachers are among hundreds statewide accused of misconduct involving students.
