A substitute teacher is under investigation by Killeen Independent School District police over alleged sexual misconduct.
Killeen ISD notified families that the district had received a report on March 30 about “inappropriate communication” between a long-term substitute at Chaparral High School and a student.
“We removed the substitute from the classroom immediately and began an investigation,” Chaparral Principal Elizabeth Cunningham stated. “The KISD Police Department confirmed there was evidence of inappropriate communication.”
The unnamed teacher will no longer be allowed to work at Killeen ISD schools.
According to the district, the substitute was employed through ESS, a nationwide staffing company that supplies substitute teachers for Killeen ISD and other Texas schools.
“We take concerns like this seriously,” the district added. “Please talk with your child and remind them to report anything that does not feel right.”
