Conservative challenger Mike Olcott has unseated Republican State Rep. Glenn Rogers of Graford in House District 60.

House District 60 includes Palo Pinto, Parker, and Stephens counties.

The race was a rematch, as Rogers narrowly defeated Olcott in 2022. During that election, Gov. Greg Abbott endorsed Rogers.

However, as Rogers voted against Abbott’s school choice package, Abbott’s endorsement this election went to Olcott.

Olcott, the co-founder of Parker County Conservatives, also received the endorsements of former President Donald Trump, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, Attorney General Ken Paxton, Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller, and organizations such as Texas Gun Rights, Texas Home School Coalition, and Texans for Fiscal Responsibility.

“Yesterday was a big win for grassroots conservatives in HD 60!” Olcott said following the victory. “I am so grateful for the passionate, dedicated commitment of so many volunteers who made this victory possible! I look forward to truly serving the citizens of HD 60 and fighting for our conservative values.”

As there is not a Democrat running for HD 60, Olcott will face no opposition in the General Election.
