A now-former North Texas teacher is facing more child sexual abuse charges.

Eric Mitchell Moore, 30, was taken into custody on three new charges of indecency with a child by sexual contact, according to the Little Elm Police Department.

Moore was first arrested in January on charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14, a first-degree felony, and indecency with a child by sexual contact, a second-degree felony.

At the time of his initial arrest, Moore was a teacher at the North Texas Collegiate Academy’s East Campus in Little Elm, a charter school that serves pre-K through 8th grade students.

Little Elm Police also stated that on February 19, a Denton County grand jury indicted Moore on four counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and one count of indecency with a child.

Following his first arrest, Moore was released on bonds totaling $500,000.

Moore was booked into the Denton County Jail again on February 19. Total bonds are set at $450,000—$150,000 for each charge.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Little Elm Police Department at 214-975-0460.

Moore received an intern teaching certificate in October 2025, which is currently “inactive” and under investigation by the Texas Education Agency.

He also received an “exemplary teacher” designation, “a distinction awarded to highly effective public school teachers,” according to the TEA.

Over the past few years, a growing number of Texas teachers have been accused of sex crimes against students and other children, and thousands have been reported to the TEA for sexual misconduct.
