AUSTIN—Nearly 10,000 pro-Palestine protesters marched the streets of Austin on Capitol grounds, calling for Palestine to be “free.” This has led Texas GOP Chairman Matt Rinaldi to question Texas Democrats’ lack of support for Israel.

Protesters held signs displaying swastika art and phrases accusing President Joe Biden of causing genocide in the Gaza Strip.

The thousands of protestors were recorded chanting, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free! What do we want? Justice! When do we want it? NOW! If we don’t get it? Shut it down!”

According to The Federalist, the phrase “from the river to the sea” is “not just a celebration of the murder of Jews, it’s a demand for ethnic cleansing.”

Protestors also called both Biden and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott liars and “demanded” they facilitate a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip.

This was an echo of several Democrat state lawmakers from last week.

The state of Texas has taken numerous steps to show support for Israel since the start of the conflict over a month ago.

However, instead of showing support for Israel like the rest of the state, Democrat state lawmakers called for an immediate ceasefire with Hamas.

In a letter to Texas Democrat Party Chairman Gilbert Hinojosa, Democrat State Reps. Ron Reynolds (Houston), John Bryant (Dallas), Terry Meza (Irving), and Ana-Marie Ramos (Richardson) asked the state party to urge Biden to call for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas War.

The lawmakers said it was their “moral and humanitarian obligation to advocate for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.”

Texas GOP Chairman Matt Rinaldi took to social media following the protest to accuse the Democrat lawmakers of failing to support Israel.

Texas Scorecard sent the Texas Democrat Party a request for comment on the matter; however, as of publication, they did not respond.
