FRISCO—A retired teacher and girls’ soccer coach who worked in Richardson Independent School District for three decades has been accused of possessing child porn.

Frisco police arrested 65-year-old Charles Ray “Chuck” Brandon on Tuesday after investigating an online tip to the department’s Internet Crimes Against Children unit.

Detectives searched his home and found “multiple images meeting the Texas statutory definition of child pornography.”

Brandon was charged with possession of child pornography, a third-degree felony punishable by two to 10 years in prison.

He was released from jail Wednesday on a $30,000 bond.

Richardson ISD confirmed that Brandon worked at Berkner High School from 1991 to 2021.

During that time, he coached girls’ soccer and taught speech and debate.

“This news is shocking and disturbing,” district officials said in a message to Berkner parents on Wednesday, adding that they are working with police to identify other potential victims.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Frisco Police Department at 972-292-6010.

State records show Brandon’s Texas educator certificate was issued in the 1980s and is valid for life.

Brandon is the latest Texas teacher accused of sexually exploiting children, and more “bad apples” are being charged almost daily.
