Ronny Jackson seems intent on keeping his promise to assist conservative Republicans locked in competitive congressional races across Texas. He has just created a new political action committee with that very goal.

Jackson’s Texas Red PAC was filed with the Federal Election Commission this week. The organization’s treasurer is Dr. Chris Morrow, an Amarillo veterinarian who was a key supporter in Jackson’s campaign for Congress in Texas’ 13th Congressional District. Morrow was one of the most influential agriculture-based voices for Jackson in the ag-heavy Panhandle.

Following his victory over establishment-backed lobbyist Josh Winegarner in the July 14 runoff, Jackson reiterated his plans to support Republicans for competitive U.S. House seats in numerous interviews. At this point, it is unclear which Republican candidates Jackson is planning on assisting through the organization.

In addition to his assistance for other Republicans, Jackson is also facing his own general election in what is considered by many to be a solidly Republican seat. The winner of the contest between Jackson, Democrat Gus Trujillo, and Libertarian Jack Westbrook will replace retiring U.S. Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-Clarendon).
