Round Rock Independent School District has been hit with yet another allegation of impropriety.
According to a social media post by former Round Rock ISD Trustee Mary Bone, the embattled district paid tens of thousands of dollars to Trustee Tiffanie Harrison.
At the time of her 2020 election, Harrison, a radical DEI activist, was employed by the district as a teacher. Bone alleges the district continued to pay her teacher salary through the end of the 2021 school year.
Did a Texas School Trustee Continue to Receive Payments After She Resigned Midyear?

“Tiffanie took her office in late November of 2020,” writes Bone, “but records obtained from a community member show that Tiffanie continued to receive a salary worth thousands of dollars while she was a sitting board member until the end of the school year in 2021 even though she had resigned her teaching position in November when she was sworn in as a Trustee. Any salary payment after Tiffanie was sworn in as a Trustee to the district would violate Texas law.”
According to Bone, the improper payments totaled nearly $60,000.
This is hardly the first issue the scandal-plagued district has faced in recent years.
Texas Scorecard previously chronicled a months-long saga at Round Rock ISD in a 2022 special report and exclusive podcast series, Exposed, which included three separate investigations into the district and superintendent Hafiez Azaiez. Five of the seven school board members are facing allegations of covering up the superintendent’s alleged violence and weaponizing “censure resolutions” against two dissenting trustees.
Then, in 2024, the district’s public embarrassment continued with accusations related to bribery, covering up the sexual assault of a five-year-old, and financial mismanagement.
Texas Scorecard requested comment from the district and Trustee Harrison but did not receive a response by publication.
