A former San Antonio substitute teacher and special education aide was jailed on charges that he sexually assaulted a 12-year-old student multiple times.
Christopher Patrick Uresti, 23, was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first-degree felony.
Uresti reportedly met the girl when she was a fifth grade student at Kriewald Road School of the Arts, an elementary school in Southwest Independent School District, where he was a substitute teacher. The girl told authorities Uresti would buy her snacks.
In 2024, Uresti began communicating with the victim via text messages and Instagram while she was a student at Francis Scobee Middle School and he worked there as a Behavior Management Classroom (BMC) aide. A post on the Southwest ISD website also describes Uresti as a coach of Scobee’s CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) basketball team.
According to the victim, Uresti sexually assaulted her three separate times in February and March of 2025.
She told investigators Uresti picked her up at her home late at night, drove to a dark place, told her to get in the back seat, and forced her to perform sex acts.
In May, the girl reported the alleged assaults to a teacher, and the San Antonio Police Department opened an investigation on May 20.
Uresti was booked into the Bexar County Jail on May 30 and is being held on a $300,000 bond.
Southwest ISD spokeswoman Jennifer Collier confirmed to Texas Scorecard that Uresti worked as a substitute teacher mainly at Kriewald from October 2022 until February 2023, and as a special education aide at Scobee from September 2023 through May 2024 and from August to October 2024.
Collier stated that Uresti was allowed to resign in October 2024 while he was under investigation for “inappropriate behavior” with students:
In October of last year, we received reports of inappropriate behavior by substitute teacher Christopher Uresti, including texting and playing video games with students. The district immediately launched a thorough investigation, during which Mr. Uresti resigned from the district. At the conclusion of our review, no credible evidence of sexual misconduct was found at that time.
The recent allegations of sexual assault surfaced after Mr. Uresti was no longer employed with the district. These allegations are deeply troubling, and we are fully cooperating with law enforcement as they conduct their investigation.
Uresti was certified as an educational aide in September 2023. His certificate is under review by the Texas Education Agency.
