In a tweet detailing the early voting returns of a Grapevine-Colleyville ISD School Board race, a local liberal activist revealed just who’s side Giovanni Capriglione (R–Southlake) is on. (Hint: It’s not the taxpayers.)

The tweet, by known Capriglione supporters at the Luce Law Firm in Southlake, thanks Capriglione for his help in electing Becky St. John to a school board seat. They applaud Capriglione for assisting in the victory, which they label a rebuke of NE Tarrant Tea Party, an influential, liberty-minded, grassroots group in Tarrant County.

Capriglione was elected back in 2012, thanks in part to strong support from NETTP volunteers.

The tweet also claims victory over taxpayer champions and House Freedom Caucus Members Reps. Jonathan Stickland (R–Bedford) and Matt Krause (R–Fort Worth).

This would all be par for the course for some Republicans who continue to back Capriglione, even as his voting record has continued to become more and more abysmal, but the tweet actually ends with the hashtag “Blockvoteblue”.

It appears Capriglione’s coalition is no longer the grassroots that put him in office and been supplanted with an anti-taxpayer alliance of crony republicans, educrats, and liberal democrats. These same “Blockvoteblue” leftists seek to replace every statewide Republican officeholder such as Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, and Sen. Ted Cruz with Democrats such as Lupe Valdez, Mike Collier, and Congressman Robert Francis O’Rourke.

Local grassroots activists were even ridiculing the company that Capriglione was keeping by endorsing Becky St. John, making images compiling her various endorsements like the following.

Taxpayers should demand that Capriglione return to representing the interests of the taxpayers who initially elected him, instead of liberal Democrats.
