Late Friday afternoon the Austin emergency response teams and federal agencies declared the substance mailed to TFR to be mostly harmless. The TFR staff and others in their section of the building were released, after being sequestered until the powder was identified.

TFR’s president, Michael Quinn Sullivan, thanked his staff for their courage and professionalism in the face of the threat.

“We know there are some out there who simply despise the idea of liberty and the empowerment of all Texans. We’ll continue to push strongly, knowing we have facts and truth on our side.”

Sullivan thanked again the emergency response teams for their professional treatment of the situation.

“I trust the responsible parties will be brought to justice, and that they — and not the taxpayers — will bear the cost of their vile hoax.”
