Dallas District 7 Councilman Kevin Felder was arrested this week on a charge of  “causing an accident involving an injury.”

On Monday, Felder was indicted on the third-degree felony charge for allegedly leaving the scene of a crash he was involved in. The crash also involved a minor driving a scooter who suffered an injury because of the crash. Felder was reported to have had “words with the driver of the scooter” before leaving the scene.

Felder’s vehicle was impounded and he turned himself in to police earlier this week. When asked, Felder said he had no comment regarding the accident.

Felder is the same city councilman involved with the controversial proposals to reform the Dallas Citizens Police Review Board. He told Dallas Chief of Police Renee Hall, in a meeting where voters weren’t allowed to speak, that “a secretive body with subpoena power, that should be our goal.”

Felder is running for re-election in May and faces eight challengers for the Place 7 seat.
