As radical ideologies increasingly seep into government and education institutions, this bill sought to draw a clear line: Texas taxpayers should not be forced to fund anti-American doctrines. The bill never made it out of committee.
Election Integrity: Securing the Ballot Box
HB 209 (Schofield) would have required the separation of federal elections from state and local elections, reducing confusion, administrative errors, and opportunities for misconduct. Despite widespread grassroots support, the bill was blocked by Ken King.
Fiscal Responsibility: Banning Taxpayer Funded Lobbying
SB 19 (Middleton) This bill was a ban on taxpayer funded lobbying, a top priority of the Texas GOP, Texas Senate, Greg Abbott and a majority of Republicans in his own chamber. Ken King killed the bill.
Gun Rights: Stopping Rogue Prosecutors
HB 958 (Toth) would have prohibited district and county attorneys from refusing to enforce gun laws based on political ideology. The bill never advanced.

There isn’t one single bill on this issue. The Texas Senate passed a strong E-Verify bill and many Texas House members filed bills. Ken King killed them all.
Medical Liberty: Limiting Federal Overreach
HB 1377 (Virdell) would have restricted the influence of federal health agencies within Texas, reinforcing state sovereignty and protecting individual medical freedom. Ken King killed this bill.
Pro-Family: Stopping Transgender Fraud
HB 3817 (Oliverson) This bill created the criminal offense of gender identity fraud, making it a state jail felony for an individual to knowingly misrepresent their biological sex as the opposite of what was assigned at birth in verbal or written statements to governmental entities or employers. Ken King killed it.
Across multiple issue areas, the pattern is unmistakable. Ken King didn’t just kill one or two conservative bills. He killed over 100.
