  • Senate has filed two different bills related to allocating federal COVID-19 relief funds.
  • Senate Bill 2 –  State Sen. Jane Nelson (R–Flower Mound) – Allocates $7,245,419,946 to Unemployment Compensation Fund to repay the debt owed to U.S. Treasury.
  • Senate Bill 8 – State Sen. Jane Nelson (R–Flower Mound) – Allocates $7,245,419,946 to Unemployment Compensation Fund to repay the debt owed to U.S. Treasury and also allocated remainder of available $16 billion to other state agencies.
  • Senate was quick to move on the most recently added special session agenda item: an increase in the penalty for illegal voting.
