Three doctors have been thwarted from continuing to prescribe cross-sex hormones to Texas children.
Attorney General Ken Paxton filed lawsuits last year against medical professionals May Lau, M. Brett Cooper, and Hector Granados. According to the attorney general, the three doctors prescribed “gender transition” drugs to children, which is a direct violation of Texas law.
Paxton’s lawsuits forced the doctors into agreements that prevent them from administering cross-sex hormones to minors.
“Texas law forbids doctors from endangering children by prescribing illegal ‘gender transition’ drugs based on radical theories divorced from reality,” Paxton said.
“In America, we recognize that there are only two unchangeable genders and that children should be protected,” he continued. “I will enforce the law to the fullest extent to prevent any doctor from providing these dangerous drugs to kids.”
Lau and Cooper entered into “Rule 11” agreements, which prohibit them from practicing medicine on patients entirely while litigation continues. Granados reportedly remains under a court-ordered injunction that blocks him from gender alteration practices on children.
