Multi Media LLC, the operator of “Chaturbate,” has agreed to a settlement with Texas to ensure that it complies with state age verification laws.

“Chaturbate” is one of the most visited pornography websites on the internet.

Paxton had previously sued “Chaturbate” along with its parent company on March 19 because it had not abided by House Bill 1181—which requires commercial pornography websites to establish “reasonable” verification measures to ensure that minors are not exposed to obscene content online.

“Companies violating the age verification requirements required by HB 1181 will be subject to fines of up to $10,000 per day, an additional $10,000 per day if the corporation illegally retains identifying information, and $250,000 if a child is exposed to pornographic content due to not properly verifying a user’s age,” a March 21 press release from Paxton’s office states.

Other major porn companies similarly violating Texas law that have been sued by Paxton earlier this year are Hammy Media and Aylo Global.

“It’s a very positive development that this company has decided to follow the law and begin reasonable age verification measures designed to protect Texas children from harmful material,” Paxton said in a press release today.

“Other pornography companies should follow this example and willingly choose to do the right thing and abide by the law,” he continued.

As part of the agreement, Multi Media LLC is required to pay $675,000 to the state of Texas for operating “Chaturbate” without reasonable age verification methods.
