In the Tarrant County race to replace Republican State Rep. Matt Krause, Gov. Greg Abbott’s endorsed candidate Laura Hill was defeated by Nate Schatzline

Schatzline is a local activist; a pastor; the founder of For Liberty & Justice, an organization dedicated to mobilizing the local church to see reformation in government; and the director of operations for The Justice Reform, an anti-human trafficking organization based out of Fort Worth, Texas.

Hill, the former mayor of Southlake, racked up endorsements from Gov. Greg Abbott as well as House Speaker Dade Phelan.

In a rare move just a few days before the election, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick waded into the race and endorsed Schatzline, despite Abbott’s endorsement of his opponent.

“Nate will stand & fight for all of the families in HD-93 & their rights. At a time where our Texas values are being challenged everywhere, we need a man like Nate in the Texas Legislature,” said Patrick.

Schatzline will face Democrat K.C. Chowdhury in the November general election.
