Attorney General Ken Paxton obtained a court order freezing the domain of a pornography website, run by Kick Entertainment Online, for failing to comply with age-verification requirements.
Texas law requires pornographic websites to implement age-verification measures to ensure minors are not accessing obscene material.
The bill was passed with bipartisan support in 2023 and was subsequently upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2025.
Kick Entertainment Online, owner of the domain “motherless.com,” neglected to implement the age verifications and was subsequently sued by Paxton in April 2024.
Kick never responded or appeared in court, resulting in a default win for Paxton and a court order requiring the company to implement age-verification requirements.
With Kick still ignoring the judgment, Paxton filed a writ of attachment to freeze the domain name “motherless.com.”
With the order approved, Kick must now pay $9,140,000 and implement the required age-verifications to recover the domain name.
“This court order establishes a huge precedent that websites can be stripped of their domain if they ignore the law and harm children with pornographic content,” said Paxton.
Paxton has also sued Aylo Global, Multi Media, and LLC and Hammy Media—the companies behind Pornhub, Chaturbate, and xHamster—in an effort to enforce Texas law against major pornographic platforms.
“My office will continue to take action against any website that harms kids by allowing them access to pornographic content,” Paxton said.
