On Thursday evening, President Donald Trump faced former Vice President Joe Biden in the final president debate ahead of the 2020 election.
During the 90-minute exchange, Biden notably called for the end of the oil and gas industry in the United States, of which Texas is the nation’s largest producer.
Here is what some Texas Republicans are saying after the debate:
Former VP Biden was EXPOSED tonight. He lied constantly. He slurred his speech and couldn’t form complete sentences. He advocated amnesty for illegals, and he promised to END our energy sector. He proved tonight he’s NOT fit cognitively, or ideologically to lead our country!

Biden will devastate the Texas economy by denying the use of oil and gas. Jobs. Public school funding. Affordable gas and electricity. All devastated. If you didn’t know that before, you know it now after watching that debate. #txlege

President Trump lays out a compelling case for FOUR MORE YEARS.
Joe Biden closes saying he will eliminate countless American energy jobs.
The choice couldn't be more clear.

Hey Texans – Joe wants to end US fracking and end the use of fossil fuels… which would destroy Texas jobs, empower the Middle East & China, & ironically drive up CO2! @wendydavis would rubber stamp this foolishness! #Tx21 #StandUpForAmerica #EnergyFreedom https://t.co/6MuaMjmtoO

Joe believes in the “United States.” Not red states or blue states….BUT it’s the red state’s fault. #JoeBiden is a walking contradiction.

Great debate between @JoeBiden & @realDonaldTrump w/ HUGE public policy issue at the end! @JoeBiden said he would transition away from Oil industry. @realDonaldTrump says did u hear that TX, Oklahoma & Pennsylvania? Say it ain’t so Joe! “Transition” means “no more jobs!” #txlege
