Both Dallas Pride and Pride Arlington held drag shows in celebration of LGBT “pride” month, with video footage from the Saturday events revealing children in attendance.

The footage, released by Texas Family Project, captures young children in the audience of sexually explicit performances at the Arlington Pride drag show. The drag queens shook their buttocks for the crowd while making explicit gestures.

Clips captured at the event also show LGBT-themed apparel for all ages on display amongst the booths, including caps emblazoned with vulgar slurs and t-shirts meant to appeal to young children.

“We must ask ourselves why these LGBT organizations continue insisting these are ‘family friendly’ events, while intentionally inserting sexually charged material and content. There are no innocent answers to that question, which, in fact, speaks volumes,” Sara Gonzales, vice president of TFP, told Texas Scorecard.

Hyper-sexual festivals and drag shows should never involve children. This should not be tolerated in the state of Texas. It’s past time for our legislators to prioritize protecting innocent children from this sexual exploitation.

Dallas Pride also hosted a drag performance in which video clips show children in the audience watching. The performers wore minimal clothing and danced explicitly for the crowd.

Apparel and stickers featuring pro-LGBT slogans and sexually explicit artwork were also on display. One of the magnets on display for purchase read, “Live Fast Eat A**.”

“Another extremely sexual Pride performance in front of CHILDREN!” TFP posted on X about the Dallas event. “When will this end?”

Texas lawmakers passed Senate Bill 12 in 2023, which prohibited sexually oriented shows in the presence of minors and on public property. A violation of the law would result in a civil penalty and a misdemeanor.

However, the American Civil Liberties Union of Texas filed a lawsuit challenging the measure. In late September 2023, a U.S. district judge issued a permanent injunction. The judge cited the law as a restriction on the First Amendment in his ruling.
