Along with staying busy here at TFR as "The Intern," I also moonlight as a State Vice Chairman for Young Conservatives of Texas. I’m very proud to announce that YCT has released our endorsements for the 2008 primary. The full page of endorsements can be found here. To learn more about YCT, our website is www.yct.org.

A few highlights:

  • In House District 99, YCT has endorsed and campaigned for Dr. Tom Annunziato. Dr. Tom offers a great conservative alternative to current incumbent RINO Charlie Geren.
  • Voters in District 55, in the Killeen/Temple area, have the privilege to vote for one of the best candidates for State Representative I’ve ever had the opportunity to meet. Michael Pearce, a Marine and school teacher-turned-entrepreneur is uniquely qualified to serve Texans in the House of Representatives. He is the kind of candidate conservative Texans need.
  • On the congressional side, YCT has endorsed State Representative Robert Talton for Congress in District 22 (Tom Delay’s old seat). Talton has served Texas well in the Legislature and he is the clear conservative choice for Congress in a very crowded field there in Sugar Land.Â
  • Out in District 23 in west Texas, we have endorsed Quico Canseco for Congress. He’s a fantastic conservative running in a contested primary to take on Democrat Ciro Rodriguez.

These are just a few of the endorsements. Please take a look at the full list of endorsements found here. We do our endorsements by sending out questionnaires to the candidates, conducting interviews when necessary, and relying heavily (for state races) on YCT’s Legislative Ratings.
Â
I hope that you will use these endorsements and ratings to make wise choices on March 4th. For those who don’t have contested primaries, endorsements for the general election will be released sometime this summer.
