A leading Second Amendment advocacy group is expanding in Texas, as Gun Owners of America announces the hiring of Teresa Beckmeyer as the organization’s Texas Operations Director.

A lifelong West Texan, Beckmeyer is well-known by grassroots across the Lone Star State for her commitment to conservative values and holding lawmakers accountable. In addition to advocating for the freedom of Texans as a grassroots activist, she has also served as the GOP chair for Mitchell County, ran campaigns, and reported on the activities of the legislature.

Beckmeyer most recently served as the Executive Director of the Texas Freedom Caucus before leaving the position earlier this month after the conclusion of the legislative session.

“Teresa is a hardworking advocate for liberty and has earned the trust of grassroots conservatives across the state,” said Tim Macy, the current chairman of GOA. “Gun Owners of America is honored to have her join our Texas team.”

Beckmeyer joins Rachel Malone, the current Texas Director, in the organization’s expansion into Texas. During the legislative session, the GOA fought for legislation to expand gun rights, such as constitutional carry, as well as fought successfully against several proposals to restrict them further.

Founded in 1975, GOA fights both in the U.S. Capitol and state legislatures to protect the Second Amendment rights of Americans across the country.
