A central Texas lawmaker on Tuesday rejected petitions from constituents calling on the freshman state representative to pass all items on Gov. Greg Abbott’s special session agenda.

While in his capitol office, Marbles Falls Republican State Rep. Terry Wilson personally refused to accept #PassThemAll petitions promoted by Empower Texans, citing the lack of an email address for each petition signer as part of the signatures, even though nearly all signatures contained full mailing addresses. (Empower Texans does not share email addresses of petition signers, subscribers, or donors to any third party.)

The petitions from Rep. Wilson’s own constituents, calling on him to pass every item on Gov. Greg Abbott’s supplemental call for the special session, were printed and hand delivered by Empower Texans Tuesday afternoon after legislators gaveled in for the start of the special session.

Empower Texans personally delivered thousands of petitions from taxpayers across the state during the course of the regular session, on subjects ranging from property tax reform to a ban on sanctuary cities. Wilson is the first lawmaker to explicitly refuse such communications from constituents.

Since Rep. Wilson is apparently unwilling to be bothered with paper communication, taxpayers in House District 20 are encouraged to call his capitol office at 512-463-0309 and demand he #PassThemAll.
