With early voting beginning for the May election, the Republican Party of Texas has endorsed 27 candidates for various local office positions across the state. 

“We’re proud to endorse the following candidates for local office who are committed to defending Texas and preserving the values we hold dear,” an X post by the party stated.

The list includes: 

Dave Scott for Allen City Council, Place 1.

Dave Shafer for Allen City Council, Place 5.

Kelly Patterson-Herndon for Anna City Council, Place 4.

Pete Cain for Anna Mayor.

David Hogue for Celina City Council, Place 2.

Ghentry Pace for Celina City Council, Place 3. 

Jeff Larson for Clear Creek ISD, District 4.

Beverly Gatlin for Ellis County Appraisal District, Place 1. 

Kameron Raburn for Ennis Mayor.

Craig Overstreet for Farmersville Mayor.

Samantha Buford for Ferris ISD, Place 3. 

John Redmond for Frisco City Council, Place 3.

Melanie Barrios-Jones for Frisco ISD, Place 7.

Bill Frazer for Harris County Appraisal District, Place 1. 

Kyle Scott for Harris County Appraisal District, Place 2.

Donovan Campbell for Katy ISD, Position 6.

David Olson for Katy ISD, Position 7. 

Shannon Sweat for Melissa City Council, Place 1.

Edward Gardner for Midlothian City Council, Place 5.

Eduardo Gonzalez for Midlothian ISD, Place 3.

Alongside voting for local candidates, many voters will be asked to consider multi-million to billion-dollar bonds for their school districts, counties, and local taxing entities.

Early voting is ongoing through April 30. Election Day is May 4.
