A former high school teacher has been arrested and charged with sexual assault of a child and having an improper relationship with a student.
Alainee Simonson, who taught at the Killough campus of Lewisville High School, was arrested by Grapevine police on Friday, December 13.
She was hired as a high school teacher for Lewisville Independent School District in August 2022 and is accused of committing the crimes in 2022 and 2023.
Simonson allegedly invited the 16-year-old student to live with her and sexually assaulted him dozens of times, revealed a police affidavit acquired by WFAA. The student reported the assault to law enforcement in September 2024.
According to the affidavit, Simonson allegedly invited the student to live with her family when his uncle decided to move out of state for work. She contacted the student’s mother in Honduras, who allegedly allowed him to move in with his teacher.
The victim told police that he had sex with Simonson over 40 times and was worried that if he refused, she would reveal his immigration status. Simonson also allegedly sent the victim a nude photo, exposing a tattoo of his name.
In an interview with police, she confirmed she had a tattoo of the victim’s name but denied sexual activity with him. Simonson also told police that she has a tattoo of one of her three children’s names.
According to a statement from Lewisville ISD, the district investigated reports of inappropriate behavior by Simonson and placed her on administrative leave. She then resigned in February 2023.
“The district, law enforcement and Child Protective Services investigated reports of concerning behavior by the teacher but were unable to substantiate an inappropriate relationship between the teacher and a student at the time the concerns were reported,” the district stated.
Simonson worked for Lewisville ISD for approximately seven months. Records also show that she worked at Keller ISD from 2021 to 2022.
State records show Simonson received a certificate to teach English in 2021 and a special education certification in 2022. She is currently under review by the Texas Education Agency.
The Grapevine Police Department investigation is ongoing.
Simonson is not the first teacher in Lewisville or Keller schools to be charged with sex crimes involving minors. She is among dozens of Texas teachers charged with sex crimes against students.
