A teacher in the Spring Branch Independent School District is facing a felony charge of possessing child sexual abuse material, including video of a victim 5 to 8 years old.
Chandler Samuel Lee Price, 25, was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography, the term used in Texas law for child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
A charging document states that the material depicted the sexual assault of a child younger than 10 years of age, making the crime a first-degree felony punishable by up to life in prison.
At the time of his arrest, Price was a teacher at Northbrook Middle School in Spring Branch ISD.
Price was booked into the Harris County Jail on May 7. Bond is set at $250,000.
A probable cause affidavit describes text messages Price exchanged with a co-defendant in Ohio who the teacher told authorities he was “dating over the phone.”
In February, the co-defendant allegedly texted Price, “I wanna f*** kids with you,” and asked Price if he wanted to see child porn. Price responded, “100% Yes” and “lol sure.”
After the co-defendant sent CSAM videos to Price, the teacher responded that the videos were “so hot they made my d*** go brick” and sent the co-defendant pictures of himself with minors at the middle school.
The two shared messages about sexually assaulting a 5-year-old and if it would be “hot to adopt kids and have sex with them.” Price then allegedly offered a 14-year-old who they could sexually assault.
Officers who executed a search warrant on Price also found video of a 5- to 8-year-old child being sexually assaulted.
Spring Branch ISD notified Northbrook Middle School families and staff on May 8 of Price’s arrest.
“Law enforcement has specifically confirmed the individual’s actions leading to these charges have no connection to Spring Branch ISD, Northbrook Middle School or any SBISD or NMS students,” the district stated.
If these allegations are proven true, we urge the justice system to respond to the highest extent of the law.
Upon notification by law enforcement, the district took immediate action to place this individual on administrative leave. As such the individual is not permitted on the Northbrook Middle School campus or any SBISD property.
Spring Branch ISD stated that an investigation is ongoing and the district will keep families informed of developments.
“The safety, security and wellbeing of every member of the SBISD family will always remain our highest priority,” the district concluded.
Online records show Price has worked for Spring Branch ISD since the 2023-24 school year.
Price has held a Texas teaching certificate for English since 2023.
In just the past few years, hundreds of Texas teachers have been accused of sex crimes involving students and other children. Thousands have been reported to the Texas Education Agency for sexual misconduct.
