Tonight’s budget agreement between the House and Senate is a big win for Texas’ taxpayers, and the future strength of the state’s economy.

Legislators demonstrated tonight that they heard the November message loud and clear. Voters demanded fiscal responsibility, that Texas not follow the irresponsible path of other states or Washington, DC.

Our conservative legislators are delivering on their promise for a budget that lives within the taxpayers’ means, doesn’t raise taxes or raid the rainy day fund. The voices of Texas’ taxpayers have been heard in the Capitol.

Lawmakers nationwide should pay attention: by keeping government spending in check, Texans are protecting the vitality of our state’s economy.
