Preston Weeks has never lacked confidence when it comes to his football abilities.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the Rowlett High grad walked away from at least three Division 11 scholarship offers to sign with Baylor as a preferred walk-on at a time when the Bears had one of the top 25 recruiting classes in the country and the fourth rated one in the Big 12 headed for Waco.

The 6-foot-4, 244 -pound freshmen is proving to be almost just as patient, waiting for his chance to see his first game action behind sophomore Charlie Brewer and fellow freshmen Gerry Bohanon, currently the only two scholarship signal-callers on the roster.

Weeks was rated a two-star recruit by Rivals.com coming out of Rowlett, where according to the Waco Tribune he completed 58 percent of his passes for 2,077 yards and 16 touchdowns against just five interceptions as a senior.
