Everett Ray is hoping to make a comeback in his sophomore year playing for the Southern Methodist University Mustangs.
According to the school’s website, the 6-foot-7, 220-pound forward from Addison missed the last 14 games of the 2017-18 season due to a foot injury.
Ray played in 16 games during his freshman year and achieved his first double-double in his college career with 12 points and 10 rebounds. He averaged 2.3 points and 2.7 rebounds for all games.
Ray, who attended Trinity Christian Academy, scored over 2,000 points as a high school basketball player. His accolades have included been being named Big South Junior Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, and named to the All-State, All-District and All-Academic first teams.
He was a three-star signee with CHANT Home School during the 2015-16 season, and has also played at the NBA Players Association Top 100 Camp.
Ray, an undecided major, is no stranger to basketball as his father Clifford played in the NBA for a decade.
