Jackson Moffat’s first few months as a walk-on with the Baylor Bears basketball program has left him with lessons he hopes will make things easier in the future.

The 6-foot-6-inch, 210-pound freshmen forward hasn’t played this season, according to ESPN, but that hardly means all has been a loss for the Magnolia High grad.

Moffat has intently watched and learned as the Bears have raced to a 19-9 start, good for third place in the rugged Big 12 Conference. The Bears should be a lock for this month’s NCAA tournament.

The all-time leading scorer at Magnolia, Moffat is confident his ability to put the ball in the hoop will eventually add another dimension for Baylor.

As a high school senior, the three-time first team All-District 20-5A selection averaged 25.5 points to earn offensive MVP honors in the district.
