The high-school stats—55 solo tackles, averaging 5.8 per game  across 19 varsity games played—easily explain why Arizona Wildcat Dayven Coleman made it from West Mesquite High School to a PAC-12  football team.

But there are more accolades in the 6-foot-2, 216-pound safety’s record. First, the Dallas native lettered three times in football and earned MVP in the defensive player category for the Mesquite Skeeters. During senior year, he logged 41 tackles with one interception, propelling the Skeeters to a 7-3 record.

As his college bio states, Coleman achieved 24/7 Sports 110th-place statewide ranking, not to mention a position as a three-star recruit

Now as a Wildcat, Coleman will continue studying under head coach Kevin Sumlin, a recent hire whose resume lists 30 years’ experience and a stint as a linebacker for the Purdue Boilermakers.
