After a freshmen season in which he led the team in rebounding and ranked in the top five in scoring, Feron Hunt’s future at Southern Methodist looks brighter than ever.
The 6-foot-8, 190-pound four-star recruit from DeSoto High finished the season averaging 7.6 points and 6.4 rebounds for the Mustangs (15-17), according to ESPN.
Hunt also shot 55 percent from the field and netted double-digit scoring in 10 games. His best outing came on March 10 against USF when he posted a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds in a 77-71 road win.
The DeSoto native starred at his neighborhood high school under coach Chris Dyer, averaging 11.2 points and 7.2 rebounds as a senior, on the way to being named the No. 28 shooting guard and No. 12 overall in Texas.
Coming into the season, Hunt was tabbed one of the “5 Under-The-Radar American Conference Freshmen” to watch by CBS Sports.
