After earning numerous honors for his on-field work, Ridge Point alumnus Travis Bruffy is getting noticed for his off-field endeavors.

Bruffy, a senior offensive lineman at Texas Tech, has earned a spot on the watch list for the Wuerffel Trophy, a national college football award given to honor community service. Bruffy’s volunteer work has included working with the Boys and Girls Club and the Special Olympics, as well as reading to students at elementary schools in the Lubbock area.

At Texas Tech, Bruffy is president of the school’s chapter of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and is up for the AFCA Good Works Team.

Bruffy is coming off a season in which he was a team captain and earned All-Big 12 Conference honorable mention for the second straight season. At Ridge Point, Bruffy twice was a Class 5A-23 All-District selection, including being a unanimous pick for the first team as a senior.
